Antidepressants are like Russian Roulette, they may help depression but may cause other psychological issues.
I had experience where I worse off on antideppresents than when I was on.
If I knew how dangerous the risks were, and if there were better alternatives, I would most definately use other effective solutions with less risk.

High Blood Pressure – A Real Answer by doTERRA IPC Rob James
As I go on the road, I teach people about health and how to use essential oils.
Have a headache? use Past Tense or Peppermint.
Breathing Issues? use Breathe.
I often get questions regarding cardiovascular health which is a very serious issue.
I’ve heard many stories of the unwanted side effects of medication ranginng from water retention all the way to renal failure (I’ve met a few folks who took there medication diligently to regulate blood pressure that ended up on dialysis).
Medication is a crutch that is available to use when we don’t eat or live right.
There is a way where we can live upright free from limping (figuratively speaking) from conditions such as hypertension.
There are many suggestions but I picked this one out from the Everything doTERRA Google Groups. There is nothing better than a person sharing his own journey and the solutions he found. The following is written by Rob James.
High Blood Pressure, HBP, HTN, HPN, Hypertension
From: http://doterrago.blogspot.com/
There isn’t a single health issue that I get more inquiries on than
Hypertension.
So Am I an expert on Hypertension?
I’m not a doctor, but I did suffer a massive hemorrhagic stroke in
2006. It nearly killed me and I’ve become very acquainted with HBP its
causes, diagnosis and prevention ever since. My stroke was caused by
moderately high blood pressure in combination with a rare condition of
my adrenal gland that causes occasional spikes in Blood pressure. I
had such a spike in June of 2006 that shot my Systolic reading to well
over 200.
The question of High Blood Pressure and Essential oils is a hard wire
to walk for several reasons.
* High Blood Pressure is a serious condition. If you have HPB you
are likely working toward future heart disease. You are probably
playing Russian roullete with the possibility of Stroke. And diabetes is
already a concern or right around the corner.
* Seriously High blood pressure is something that you should be
seeing your doctor about. And my experience is that if it is elevated
to a dangerous level, you need medication like Beta blockers, or Ace
inhibitors. These have can have serious side effects, but the
alternative is more dangerous.
* There are many different causes, types and conditions
surrounding hypertension. It is nearly impossible to identify one or
more essential oil and say that “this oil” (universally) can help with
hypertension. In fact, I left rehabilitation with prescriptions for 8
different medications to regulate and normalize my blood pressure, and
I know take 1.I attribute my efforts to get off prescription
medications to;
1. Weight loss and dietary change
2. Exercise
3. doTerra’s supplements
4. No more table salt or high sodium products and a reductive use
of only sea salt or whole mineral salt.
5. Daily use of certain essential oils.
I would highly recommend that any one with elevated blood pressure use
all of these efforts, accepting #5. The essential oils that I use may
not be what will help someone else.
This still leaves many things that a person can do to help their
hypertension. The dangerous thing about our society today is that many
people have a lifestyle and habits that they are unwilling to change
in the name of health. They would rather “take a pill” than make a
change. I know people that are diabetic or borderline diabetic but
still drink outrageous amount of soda pop, or diet soda pop which can
raise A1C levels even more! You must decide to make necessary changes
in your life style if needed.
What I can recommend as a long time essential oil user, and as someone
that depends on essential oils to control hypertension is to;
1. Make dietary and exercise changes in your life that make a
healthy body a priority. This may take time, for some… years. But it
is by far the best step you can take towards normalized blood
pressure. There are many sources that can teach you foods that are
best for elevated pressure. Take advantage of these. If you smoke or
drink alcohol, stop. It’s one of the worst things you can do for
elevated blood pressure. Remove high fat, fried, high fructose corn
syrup products and carbonated drinks completely from your diet.
2. Exercise daily. Park a few blocks from work. Get a dog and walk
it daily. Go for a walk with a son, daughter or spouse every night
after dinner.
3. Use doTerra’s supplements daily.
4. Use a reduced amount of quality sea salt or whole mineral salt
for seasoning foods.
5. Find essential oils that are effective at reducing high blood
pressure for YOU. This will take testing, and patience. You need a BP
Cuff. You should have one anyway. As you try a new essential oil or
blend, take your BP before and after intervals. Try 5 min, 1 hr, 8 hrs
and 16 hrs. Try applying hourly, every 8 hrs and every 24 hours. Keep
a record of your results.
The following are a list of essential oils that have historically been
used to help regulate high blood pressure. There are also some
“blends” that some have been successful using. And finally, I’ve
included the blend that I personally use with success, again keeping
in mind that causes of my hypertension are considered rare.
Recommended applications include several drops applied with massage to
the bottom of the feet, wrists, along the breast bone, massage over
the heart, to the carotidal arteries and back of the neck. Also
diffusion might be effective, and adding the oil or blend to a bath
(agitating the water often).
*Single Oils*
Ylang Ylang
Clary Sage
Marjoram
Lavender
Helichrysum
Lemon
*Blends*
Balance
Serinity
Citrus Bliss
*Rob’s Blend*
6 drops Ylang Ylang
6 drops Helicrysum
4 drops Frankincense
4 drops Marjoram
4 drops Cassia
25 drops Coconut oil

Diabetes Week in Honolulu, Hawaii – How we helped with Diabetic Neuropathy
We had a Diabetes Week in Honolulu a couple months ago. We had many positive responses.
Meeting more and more people share their stories have made me appreciate the hard work people go through.
I got involved with doTERRA in July 2010. However, it wasn’t until February 2011 when I witnessed firsthand what the AromaTouch blend did for my friend in a matter of minutes. He has diabetes and has a prosthetic which he rarely used because of the discomfort and neuropathy. After the session he was able to feel his legs, his blood flowed better (you can tell because his calves were soft, before the session they were rock hard).
News got out, more and more of the doTERRA IPCs in Hawaii began to perform the Neuropathy Technique with many people that suffer from it.
Unique to essential oils, it was something you could feel right away. IT was something that was HIGHLY effective against neuropathy. Massage Therapists in the room who worked with people for many years have never witnessed such a recovery until that day.
When Allyse Sedivy traveled to Hawaii for an event and heard of the great things happening with the diabetic community, she decided to sponsor a Diabetes Week. It was a collaborative effort between many different groups. Cami flew in from Idaho, Allyse from Utah. Pakalana flew over from the Big Island. Heidi Hao from Molokai. There were over 80 participants with many different cultural backgrounds and social statuses which showed the need for a solution for diabetes, a major pandemic in the community.
Each person were given: cassia, coriander, grapefruit, and rosemary in a capsule for internal purposes.
There were many volunteers who were gracious. It takes a strong mission to get together with hard work and sacrifice to show what they believe in. In the room, I didn’t see health salespeople. Instead I saw members of the community that had the passion to help others and care. The tone of sharing products were about helping the people first and foremost rather than profit.
This event would cost a lot of money. The event was FREE for all the participants.
I got to know some of the people better the past few months. One was two young siblings who have diabetes and lost their father to complications to the same disease. The sister explained they were invited and initially the brother disregarded the event. She pushed for it because “It was a free massage, what do we have to lose?” More the massage, it represented hope for a recovery from diabetes. More than the massage, it represented people who care and love, and believe to give hope to those who desperately needed.
By the end of the week, the siblings became believers not only from what they felt but because of the improvement in the AIC Levels, based on simply taking the essential oils internally.
I got to learn a little bit more about diabetes. The sister explained, I don’t mind the prick but it gets difficult to inject insulin and finding the place to inject. So a switch to capsules and essential oils brought an improvement to a quality of life. Her doctor made the final call to say it was okay to lower the dosage and ease off the medication.
Diabetes is a prevalent issue. We offer results to the point where we demonstrate first hand free of charge with confidence that it will bring about a change.
Working with people with diabetes had made me very sensitive to the issue. I no longer drink any type of soda.
I believe that the fight against diabetes is a fight the entire community must take even if you are fit and in good shape.
I am so glad to be part of doTERRA. As I go on the road and meet people that have pain in their hand or knees because of diabetes.
I immediately apply the aroma touch. After the session they feel much better. After they experience the relief from pain, many of the people say say, “You know there’s a lot of people in Hawaii with Diabetes.”
I’m amazed that there are thousands of people in our community that have this kind of pain and don’t know of any solution and are at risk of losing their limbs.
I hope you enjoyed this information!

News from Howard Nakata in Japan
I got an email from my father last night and it brings me great joy and I hope it brings you joy too:
Hi Everyone,
Before I share with my travels in Tokyo, I would like to congratulate the Maui Leadership and team for the ticket sales to Dr. Hills event. Also I would like to thank the entire team for
the support for the Dr. Hill`s event and my travels.
Wow… what the power of the essential oils and relationships can do to get your business going.
Last Oct, I was in tokyo and had the opportunity to share the oils with some people. For those that shared that oil and continued to learn about the essential oils and Doterra, they now have a group growing in Tokyo.
Also, with some persistance, a few others are now going to have a team in Tokyo. Last Friday, we had a meeting with 20 people. We will have at least that many people at this Friday`s meeting.
I have met with new incoming IPC`s and prospects everyday since I have been here in Tokyo.
Last night I fell asleep on the train and ended up in Shin Kiba and was afraid I might not be able to make the last train back to my cousins place. Need to use more peppermint.
It takes an average of 30 min to 1 hour to get to places..
The goal of having a global business in Japan is within the reach of anyone who can dream and lock into the vision of spreading the word of essential oils outside of your home location.
This week besides doing my presentations, I am working with the leaders in Tokyo to learn the back office, do one on one presentations, strategy of building a team and see the presentation format for the essential oils.
The meeting for this Friday is at Shimbashi Tokyo

Mahalo and have a great week,
Howard

Congratulations to Howard Nakata and Tarita Tehotu for hitting the Top 30 in Diamond Club
Praise the Lord for the success of our two doTERRA Diamond Club members from Honolulu.
I look forward to seeing Tarita Tehotu and my father Howard Nakata (TK Exchange) reaching great heights and impacting many people while touring the west coast and outer islands.
There are over 100 People that are part of the Diamond Club.
Tarita is Number 10.
Howard is Number 15.
It goes to show, that even from a small state like Hawaii, the reach of our people extends to all over the world.
It couldn’t have happened without the support of our friends and loved ones here.
If we help them reach higher ranks, they can win prizes like an iPad 2, a vacation, or alease to a BMW 328i.
Helping our Diamond Club representatives gives our team recognition and helps build the momentum in spreading our mission.
I will continue to support our Diamond Club members by hosting weekly meetings in my office in Honolulu as well as traveling to outer islands such as Maui when possible.
Thank you all for support and prayers,
Holan Nakata

Addition by Subtraction by Doctor Robert Leon – Costco Connection
Every so often I look at the articles I receive from the Costco magazine, the Costco connection.
The article shows that doctors are faced with the same challenges wellness promoters have, when people with lifestyle diseases look for the “magic pill.”
The article August 2011
If yes, then the loss of 10 pounds will have tremendous positive effects on your cardiovascular health, blood pressure, insulin levels and overall well being, not to mention the fact that you will feel better.
A simple 30-minute daily exercise regimen, which can be as simple as walking or as complex as circuit training, is invaluable in maintaining your overall health fitness.
If so, do you monitor your blood pressure or blood glucose levels? Or do you not keep score and instead hope for the best?
What do you do to reduce the stresses of life? Do you have hobbies and/or friends? Do you play games such as golf? (Although some wold say golf is a stressor)
Do you read, do puzzles, or play chess to keep your mind sharp? Turn off the TV and stimulate your mind in other ways.

Diet sodas may raise blood sugar, studies by American Diabetes Association shows
Diet Soda bad for diabetes? Studies say yes.
Soft drink, soda, pop. There are many names for the carbonated drinks that companies like Pepsi asnd Coca-cola produce.
Soda is very popular nowadays. As I travel to developing countries where soda was once a luxury or where fresh water is scarce, soda remains a popular choice.
Soda can lead to many problems such as obesity, hyperactivity, caffeine dependence, as well as tooth decay or week bones. Many people are aware of the problems “regular” soda causes.
But what about Diet Soda?
After presenting alternative health to different groups of people with health challenges. I find that
some have given up regular soda. But now they are drinking diet soda.
One woman I talked to is very diligent on not drinking green tea as advised by a doctor since it may interfere with her prescription medication. However, the doctor says nothing about the diet soda she drinks.
The rule of thumb on looking to see how much sugar is in a drink is not enough to determine what is safe to drink.
There has been many studies on different populations that drink diet soda. It seems that people that drink diet soda may be obese, however many experts agree that other factors are involved.
For example, a customer that goes to a fast food restaurant may order a cheese burger, large fries, and a diet soda. (If you visited a fast food restaurant, you will find that this happens a lot).
Some theorize that diet soda has empty calories. Your body tastes the sweet with no energy after drinking diet soda, so you crave more foods.
As more and more studies are performed, we are beginning to understand that drinks once thought of as safe may not be safe to the body.
The Recent Study
What if we conduct study in which everything (diet, exercise, group) is the same except that one group has an intake of artificial sweetener and another does not?
A recent study presented by the American Diabetes Association on mice shows that artificial sweeteners such as aspartame may be harmful to the body and affect pancreatic beta-cell function (insulin production and blood sugar regulation).
The study concluded:
These results are consistent with data from community-based epidemiologic studies in which the consumption of diet sodas was shown to be associated with increased incidence of metabolic syndrome and diabetes. They suggest that aspartame exposure may in fact directly contribute to increased blood glucose levels, and thus may contribute to the associations observed between diet soda consumption and the risk of diabetes in humans.
The study can be found here:
I hope this information helps. Please share with those that are drinking diet soda, especially if they are fighting against diabetes.
I will continue to do my part and educate and live by example avoiding soda (both diet and regular).
Drink water! Say no to Soda even if it’s free!
Join the fight against Diabetes.

Preparing for Diabetes Week with the Neuropathy technique
From August 8-12, doTERRA leaders in Hawaii are hosting an event in Laie in the mornings and in Honolulu at night. This event is limited to hundred participants per location by invitation only and is sponsored by Blue Diamonds Patrick and Allyse Sedivy.
The Honolulu event was originally planned to use in my office. Fortunately, other leaders reserved a larger room at the Shriner’s Hospital Auditorium instead.
The technique we will be using is called the neuropathy technique. It was developed by Dr. David Hill and is used in his private practice.
We’ve conducted several trainings at my office in Honolulu, as well as meetings preparing for the event. It is a collaborative effort among several different doTERRA groups. Our goal is to change the lives of 200 participants that week which in turn will help bring attention to our mission and cause of helping people with Type II Diabetes.
We will provide essential oils to take as well as conduct the Neuropathy technique.
Neuropathy is the term for damage to nerves of the peripheral nervous system, which may be caused either by diseases of or trauma to the nerve or the side-effects of systemic illness.
Neuropathy may be associated with varying combinations of weakness, autonomic changes, and sensory changes. Loss of muscle bulk or fasciculations, a particular fine twitching of muscle, may be seen. Sensory symptoms encompass loss of sensation and “positive” phenomena including pain. Symptoms depend on the type of nerves affected (motor, sensory, or autonomic) and where the nerves are located in the body. One or more types of nerves may be affected. Common symptoms associated with damage to the motor nerve are muscle weakness, cramps, and spasms. Loss of balance and coordination may also occur. Damage to the sensory nerve can produce tingling, numbness, and pain. Pain associated with this nerve is described in various ways such as the following: sensation of wearing an invisible “glove” or “sock”, burning, freezing, or electric-like, extreme sensitivity to touch. The autonomic nerve damage causes problems with involuntary functions leading to symptoms such as abnormal blood pressure and heart rate, reduced ability to perspire, constipation, bladder dysfunction (e.g., incontinence), and sexual dysfunction.
The way we apply the oils is important, but it is only effective when we use doTERRA’s proprietary therapeutic blend AromaTouch developed by Dr. David Hill.
We’ve had many testimonies. Two of which I’ve written about here:
Click Here for David’s Testimony – David is currently on Dialysis, and has lost one leg to Diabetes. With the Neuropathy technique, David can walk his prosthetic comfortably than ever.
Click Here for Sandra’s Testimony – Sandra couldn’t walk for over 4 years after her stroke. She took her first steps this year after being introduced to doTERRA’s products and after lots of prayer
Type II Diabetes is prevalent in Hawaii and it has impacted many friends and family. As we promote wellness through positive changes in diet, exercise, and the use of natural products that improve the quality of life.
I am excited to see the positive impact that Diabetes week will bring.
We will record testimonies at the end of the week.
Note: The Diabetes Week is conducted by doTERRA Independent Product Consultants and is not endorsed by doTERRA International or Shriner’s Hospital.

Congratulations to doTERRA Diamond Club members
doTERRA has a special program called the Diamond Club to help develop leaders.
It is called the Diamond Club. The program helps train leaders how to build, develop, and present doTERRA. It also offsets expansion costs with travel so that leaders can build outside their home area.
It is a direct sellers dream to have that type of support and doTERRA is a company that provides it.
We had a few leaders on our team that sought to reach the Diamond Club qualifications.
These leaders are also willing to build, network and work hard in different states.
Two of our leaders have received email confirmations that they have met the Diamond Club qualifications this month.
Congratulations to Gerrard and Tarita TeHotu and Howard Nakata.
Also congratulations to the following who advanced in rank:
Melvin and Healani Uesato who made Elite
Dallas and Leiana Domingo who made Elite
Thank you all for contributing to touching the lives of others through health and ministry.
